My intent is to list only congregations that would describe themselves as "conservative and non-institutional". I am not here to act as arbiter. I merely ask the simple question: "Would this congregation describe itself in this way?" I take people's word as true except in rare cases where I have strong reason to suspect otherwise. I do not personally vouch for any particular characteristics of any particular group.

If this offends you, then I suggest you visit the World Wide Directory of the Churches of Christ. You may find it much more to your liking. In any case, please try to refrain yourself from telling me what a divisive, mean-spirited heathen I really am for even maintaining such a project. I assure you, I've already heard it in detail.

Special thanks to Steve Stamper, who kindly let me merge the updates from his church directory into my own.

Last but not least, I have run across a few other sites which are listing churches.

• Steve Rudd's church directory - Steve says this is for non-institutional groups only, and is produced from the same database from which the Guardian of Truth listings are produced (and thus shares its inclusion criteria, whatever they may be).
• ChurchZip.com maintains a cool directory of directories for churches of Christ that is very helpful, as well as their own listings of Churches of Christ worldwide (a non-discriminatory list, to say the least).
