What are we about?

This site is dedicated to the Truth. It is our belief that now, as in all of history past, there's far too little of such a precious commodity in the world, and far too much masquerading as such. Herein, we hope to help ourselves and others discover, discern, teach, learn, and "handle aright" the Word of Truth.

"Fighting the good fight" is not being pugnacious or short-tempered or a brawler or quick to wrath. It is being prepared and willing to take up spiritual arms against error and sin and to give our selves in the struggle against Satan. It is seeking to live like Paul, such that we will be able to say in the end, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. (2 Tim. 4:7)"

Our primary goal is to make available online as much original material as we can prepare and provide, in the hope that just as we seek to teach the truth in private or in local churches, we can likewise expand the influence that such efforts might have by making them available to anyone with a web browser.

We do not claim any particular abilities that make this material uniquely valuable. We are not by any means unique in our desire to speak and teach the truth, and we are certainly not inspired or infallible. But we recognize that the confluence of ability and opportunity demand activity. And since we have both the material and the opportunity to make it available, we feel compelled to do so.

You will certainly be liable to find errors here, as you will anywhere that you read what men have written without the benefit of God's inspiration. Please let us know when you do. You will be doing us a great favor, and even if we do not agree with your assessment, we promise to be civil for your having tried to set us straight. :)

We intend to expand this site indefinitely, because Christian study must likewise continue indefinitely, as long as life and the world continue. In that effort, we will solicit and accept certain works by "outside" authors, i.e., those not regularly affiliated with this site. Likewise, under certain conditions, we will provide temporary or permanent homes for good material written by men and women, living or dead, which has no other reliable and permanent home on the web. If you have scriptural material, of any size or scope, which needs a home and which feel strongly would fit in well on this site, feel free to contact us about it.

Finally, we seek to keep before us Paul's words in Eph. 6:12-17:

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

It is our hope that you will find this site to be of use to you in obtaining salvation. We hope that you will find things which will challenge, inform, encourage, uplift, convict, reprove, and exhort you.

It is further our hope that you will find no false doctrines promoted by the maintainers of this site. Certain portions of the site will contain writings of others, sometimes in an unmoderated form. If we didn't write it, we do not take responsibility for it. But you will find substantial content on this site, and we would like to know if you can show it to be false according to the Scriptures.
